St. Helena Preschool For All

Overview

St. Helena Preschool For All is one of the key initiatives supported by the St. Helena Rotary Club. Our intent is to help Preschool For All grow and sustain itself during the coming years.

Background On Preschool For All

In 2010, in response to the need for preschool for all of the children in the St. Helena Unified School District, the St. Helena Family Center, in partnership with five private preschools, implemented a school readiness program that provides scholarships for four-year-olds in need of preschool. The program also works with participating families to involve them in the process and educate them in enriching their children’s educational experience.

St. Helena Rotary’s Role

Beginning in 2015, St. Helena Rotary , believing that we are a Community that takes care of its own, made a commitment to fund and help grow Preschool For All. Initial fundraising was done via a Kentucky Derby Party held each May in Downtown St. Helena. Based on input from the community in early 2019, the Youth Initiative Leadership Team determined a more effective and profitable way to raise money for Preschool for All was to develop a process for recruiting Community Sponsors that will help match individual donations from St. Helena citizens. Fundraising for the 2019-2020 school year began June 1, 2019 by the St. Helena Rotary Club Foundation.

Please join us in supporting and growing the opportunities for the three and four year olds of St. Helena.

THE CHALLENGE : According to the Annual Report of PSFA, individual donations have been 5% of their total charitable donations.  Rotary is challenging our community to raise the individual donation level to 10% or $40,000 which would provide four full day scholarships.  St. Helena Rotary and its sponsors are kicking off this Challenge with a match of the first $13,000 donated.  This is an opportunity to show that ST. HELENA IS A COMMUNITY THAT TAKES CARE OF ITS OWN.  Please join us.

You can make your donation through The St. Helena Rotary Club Foundation which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, by pressing the Donate button or sending a check to St. Helena Rotary Club Foundation, P.O. Box 211, St. Helena, Ca. 94574.

St. Helena Rotary has a working relationship with Julio Olguin, managing director for PSFA, and every year we have a meeting devoted to hearing from him and parents describing how our donations are used.  This year we want to celebrate with a party that includes all donors, and families, so we can meet, see, and hear from grateful parents and children, and hear a report from Julio that demonstrates how the donations are used.
